'Gardens are often places of great beauty where your imagination can run riot with colour and design. They can also be full of religious or spiritual symbolism.

In 'A Place in Paradise' World Service presenter Trevor Barnes travels around Britain exploring the spiritual significance of garden design. He visits some beautiful gardens with Buddhist , Christian and Islamic associations.

His exploration begins at the Royal Palace of Hampton Court, to the west of London. Join Trevor as he wanders through the wilderness garden and the Privy Garden in the company of sacred garden expert - Martin Palmer, Director of the Sacred Land Trust, and painter, Jonathan Myles-Lea .

Referring to religious gardens around the world they discuss why these gardens have the potential to bring visitors closer to God.
