Architectural &
Garden Realisation Service
Jonathan Myles-Lea can make detailed realisations of proposed buildings and gardens using
architect's plans and elevations, garden designs or even verbal description. His academic
knowledge of architecture enables him to show buildings accurately in any perspective.
His horticultural knowledge enables him to progress the growth of trees and shrubs into maturity -
thus showing how a site will appear in years to come.
Myles-Lea developed these skills whilst creating his portraits of houses and gardens since 1992.
Often the artist has been asked to add buildings, trees or plants which the owners plan to add
to their properties in the future. In the painting Kasteel Wylre a new art gallery, named
'The Hedge House', designed by the Dutch architect Wiel Arrets, was added using the plans and elevations.

A more comprehensive example of Myles-Lea's Architectural & Garden Realisation Service is the pen & ink drawing of Ivy House, created for MA Cherrington Ltd in March 2006. This A1 drawing was executed before construction began on site in order to promote the project and to show how the completed scheme will appear once the buildings have been constructed and the gardens have been planted and matured. It shows a plan and perspective view of the proposed formal gardens, and an elevation of the house itself. The vignette of the proposed summer house (lower left) is the artist's own design.
